You’ve never read a graphic novel before (like me)? Congrats here’s a simple introduction to the genre. I recommend Skooter Girl to just about everybody! Honestly, there’s no good reason not to read it. Also, can someone inform me as to the difference between comic books and graphic novels? Because I don’t understand. Like you can just take a break from the hectic reality of life to read. Once again, I love that it’s simple, not in an obnoxious way, but in a calming way.

The story ends in a cliffhanger, per usual, and I can’t wait to read the next one! Also, it originated as a screenplay so it’s going to be made into a movie! And that’s being directed by a female too! (Honestly there is so much girl power involved in this story and I LOVE it! I mean we need more females involved in the film industry as well as comic books, how many female comic book/graphic novel characters can you think of off the top of your head? And of those how many are fighting over a guy? ) Anyways, it was amazing and it took me longer to write this review which is crazy. I’ve attached a few pictures below so you can see the art and design for yourself, I personally love it!

But honestly it wasn’t that different from typical stories, although I enjoyed getting to see the characters and setting rather than have them simply described to me. This is the first graphic novel I’ve ever read, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Not to mention that Mac enlisted mostly females to help her bring her idea to life! How amazing is that? A book meant to empower girls created almost exclusively by women? Even if the summary hadn’t won me over, that detail definitely did. A full freaking year AT LEAST! Anyways, it was nice to take a break from the usual 400 page books, for this short graphic novel. I can’t even tell you the last time I read a simple book. The book was delightfully simple, and I read it in 25 minutes flat. I had pretty high expectations going into this story (per usual, I expect a lot out of people) and let me tell you I was not disappointed.
